I think one of the most important decisions for the bride on the big day is the dress and how you do your hair and make-up! You really want to look your best on that day. I wanted a make-up artist who would give me a natural look while still looking a little glamorous. I don’t wear a lot of make-up and my husband really doesn’t like me in too much makeup. I really wanted to look like myself. Well, Julie was the perfect person! After I had my trial with her I knew that she could do anything I wanted and was a total pro! I had a lot of trouble deciding how to do my hair and was nervous since I don’t wear it up very often. She did a phenomenal job and I couldn’t have been more pleased! She was wonderful to work with ~ so friendly and sweet! She even brought a straw so I wouldn’t wreck my make-up! I can’t recommend Julie enough!!! She was fabulous! -Mira Toronto

HAIR and MAKEUP: A+ Julie Morgan. Julie's been doing hair in Santa Barbara forever, and she's fantastic! I did a trial with her beforehand and she remembered everything perfectly on the day of. Plus, she comes to you on your wedding day, which is very considerate. Her work is gorgeous and she's a lot of fun. She's also good at figuring out how to mesh what you want with what actually looks good on you. I only paid to have my hair and makeup done (I had a really talented bridesmaid who did hair for the wedding party), but she'll do hair for as many people as you'd like. Cost-wise, I'd say she's middle range for Santa Barbara.

Try Julie Morgan. I got married 8/25/07 and she came to the house I was staying at and did my hair and makeup and hair for my matron of honor. She was great. I don't wear a lot of makeup so I was nervous (especially about the fake eyelashes) but everything was perfect, I looked like myself and felt comfortable the whole night.

Yesterday I had my makeup run through for my own wedding day (7 weeks and counting!) and Julie Morgan did a fantastic job. She gave me a smoky eye that was subtle and really brought out my eye color. My fiance didn’t even realize I was wearing makeup! No matter who you end up booking, be sure to do a run through. I met with another makeup artist prior to Julie and it was just plain awful. I’m so glad I found someone who made me look like myself (but better).

Julie is AMAZING.  First,  let me start out by saying I am the most picky,  i had  3 hair trials and 3 Makeup trials and no one came close to Julie's talent.  
I wanted to look like myself only enhanced and she was able to do that.  she really knows how to enhance ones features with hair and Makeup.  I really  appreciated what a great listener she was and how she was able to execute what i wanted based on what i communicated to her---this seems like fairly simple task but I've noticed people don't know how to listen and normally do what they are comfortable with.  Julie she wanted me to be happy and me to feel comfortable.  Her calm nature was so pleasant to be around.  She has amazing taste and she'll make you look timeless on your day. I can't wait for my sisters to get married so i can have her do my hair and Makeup again.   I can't recommend her enough.

My wife is obsessed with hair. She spends way more than I even want to know about on haircuts, etc... She even made me get my haircut by her stylist for our wedding day (I normally do a great job cutting it myself).

I recently had a hair trial for my wedding with Julie- she was AMAZING! I was originally going to have my normal hair stylist do my hair for the wedding but he wasn't available so I had to find someone else. My fiance's stepmom recommended Julie because she had a friend who
was very impressed with her work.

Julie worked in Santa Barbara and LA doing hair and makeup for many years but just recently moved to the Bay Area.

I'm really picky about my hair so I wasn't so sure how it was going to go but it turned out beautifully! I wanted a natural look and not an updo so we left my hair down but somehow she gave me so much body and some natural waves. I will have to upload some pictures.

One added bonus is that Julie is so sweet and calming- exactly the type of person you would want on your wedding day!

I hired Julie to do hair for myself and 8 bridesmaids plus makeup for my mother and grandmother on my wedding day a few weeks ago (I had already hired someone else to do makeup since I had so many bridesmaids...)

Julie was recommended to me by my husband's stepmother whose friend had originally hired another person to do hair the day of her wedding but cancelled and changed to Julie after her hair trial with Julie went so well.

My hair looked gorgeous and elegant on my wedding day- it was exactly what I wanted and it held all night and even lasted until I got to Tahiti a two days later!

She also did an excellent job on my mother who is 62 and very picky about hair/makeup. And did I mention that she made my 90 year old grandmother look ten years younger!

On top of doing an excellent job, she was just the nicest, calmest person to have around when you're nervous about walking down the aisle in a few hours. She even gave me a makeup touch-up kit to keep with me the day of the wedding which came in really useful.

As if that wasn't enough, my rehersal dinner/hotel we got ready in was in Tiburon and her husband is a painter who had painted a landscape near that location so she had him drop off a signed print of one of his paintings. How nice is that?

Julie also stayed around to touch up my hair/makeup after the ceremony. If you want to feel relaxed and look red carpet ready on your big day I would definitely hire Julie!

Julie arrived in Santa Barbara from SF to do hair and makeup for my best friend's wedding. I had my makeup done by the other stylist, but Julie did the bride's makeup and she's never looked prettier. And the bride's bridal do was absolutely gorgeous as well.

I got my hair done when in a wedding a few weeks ago and wasn't thrilled with the results so I figured I'd do my own hair for this one. But when I saw the beautiful hair styles (thanks to Julie) on all the girls I decided I wanted my hair done too.

My request was simple...I wanted a Jennifer Aniston do. No, not the Rachel haircut. This isn't the 90's! I was thinking the one-sided braid that she sported during a recent award ceremony.

And Julie had me looking like Jennifer (or at least my hair) within 5 minutes top. And it was so well done that it still looked perfect at the wedding brunch the very next morning.

Julie also stuck around until after the ceremony to make sure all of our hair and makeup (most importantly the bride's hair and makeup) was just perfect for the reception. She followed us around with combs, hairspray, and makeup brushes. And I thought this was pretty cool considering I've seen many makeup/hair stylists take off as soon as the pre-wedding photos begin.

I know from my own wedding experience that very few stylists can do both hair and makeup perfectly, but Julie is a rare find.  Definitely recommended for SF Bay Area brides or anywhere else since she seems to be happy to travel!
